Writing is all about reading. That’s where it all starts, that’s the secret ingredient.

If you want to write books, I think you’ve got to read them! Every lesson you can learn from a course or lecture is put into real-life practice in every single book you pick up. Pacing, and dialogue, and characters, and plots are all blended together into a concoction that was tantalizing enough to be a success, or, at the very least, to land a spot on a bookseller’s shelf somewhere. That recipe, if it’s a good one, drives you to turn the page, page after page.

Love it? Why? Hate it? Why? Write sci-fi? Read it, and read the other stuff too, and you’ll find yourself writing more and more effectively.

That is my philosophy on my own work at least, take it with a grain of salt.
